What is Retro Lighting?

It was an age of bright and bold colours, natural materials and textures. The 1970s saw mixes of patterns, textures, and global influences become popular. The use of earthy colours such as brown, orange, mustard yellow, and avocado green were popular and often used in combination with natural materials like wood, stone, ceramic and rattan/wicker.
The 1980’s were characterized by a bold and glamorous aesthetic, with a focus on bright colours, metallic finishes, and unconventional shapes. The rise of technology saw a focus on high-tech materials such as glass, chrome, brass, copper and plastics. Heading into the 1990s, saw a trend towards an eclectic mix of styles, with a focus on individualism and personal expression achieved through the use of vintage or antique pieces mixed with modern.
