Fabric Pendant Lighting at Fat Shack Vintage

Nothing says warm and inviting like fabric lighting. Fabric shades soften and diffuse light, creating a relaxed, atmospheric glow in dining rooms, living spaces, bedrooms and hallways. Our range includes linen, pleated, scalloped and felt pendants, as well as fabric shade chandeliers for larger rooms.

Styles & Shades

Linen is a popular choice for fabric lights, often paired with a metal frame to hold its shape. Natural linen and pleated shades suit French Provincial, farmhouse and Japandi interiors, while black, white and grey fabric pendants bring a clean Scandinavian look. For dining rooms and living spaces, our fabric shade chandeliers add classic heritage character.

Why choose a fabric pendant light?

Fabric shades diffuse and soften light, producing a warm, ambient glow rather than harsh direct light. This makes them ideal for dining rooms, bedrooms and living spaces where you want to create atmosphere. Fabric also works across a wide range of interiors, from French Provincial and modern country to Boho.

How do I clean a fabric pendant light?

We recommend spot cleaning fabric shades only as required. Avoid harsh cleaners and chemicals, which can strip or damage your light. If in doubt, get in touch and we'll help you care for your product.

How high should I hang a fabric pendant over a dining table?

As a general guide, hang pendants around 70–80cm above the tabletop, and keep them 20–30cm in from the edges of the table. If you're hanging more than one, space them around 50–80cm apart. Read our dining room lighting guide and Pendant Light Buying Guide for full measurements.

Can I use a fabric pendant in the bedroom?

Yes. Fabric pendants work beautifully as ambient bedroom lighting, especially paired with a dimmer switch. Over bedside tables, hang them 35–50cm above the table. If installing a pendant above the bed, hang it at least 2.1 metres above the floor. See our Bedroom Lighting Guide for more ideas.
