Chill vibes and killer pancakes make this café an ideal brunch spot
Proving that breakfast doesn’t need to be fancy to be good, Happyfield is a cheerful corner café slinging hearty breakfast and lunch options to the residents of Haberfield NSW.
Munch on a few (or a lot) pancakes, pimp your eggs on toast with a choice of sides, or grab breakfast in both hands with a hearty breakfast burger. Sip on coffee or a mimosa with brunch, or choose from a fresh juice, cheerful cocktail or Australian wine throughout the day.
If the smell of freshly brewed coffee and frying bacon didn’t draw you in from the street, the interior of Happyfield is equally as welcoming. The building itself is over one hundred years old, lovingly updated to a stripped back retro-inspired look. Light cheerful textures of pale timber, yellow pressed metal ceiling and upholstered stools and banquettes are highlighted by the rough textures of the original exposed brickwork. The exterior is bold in yellow, black and white, with a distinct art deco vibe.
The space uses a combination of functional spotlights and downlights, along with more industrial or vintage-style pieces from Fat Shack Vintage. Above the counter, the E27 LED Track Spotlights allow for bright functional lighting over workspaces, while the Substation LED Tube Light adds industrial grit. The Carlyle Schoolhouse Pendant is a reproduction of a style common in public buildings during the 1920s, making it a suitable and stylish choice for the dining area. Paired with the Glass Ball Disc Wall Light over the padded banquette seating, these lights are perfect for a heritage building with a deco vibe.
