Starting with a single storefront in 2006, Babylon has reached strength after strength with locations across metropolitan Adelaide and regional Australia. The owner’s commitment to quality service and a memorable experience has shaped the central ethos of this suburban barber.
Offering a full range of grooming services for men and boys of all ages, Babylon focuses on quality on-trend haircuts, beard grooming and skincare. This blend of modern and old-school in their service offering is reflected in the stylish fit-out of each location. Blending a monochrome palette, industrial aesthetic and vintage barbershop elements, Babylon is a bold interpretation of the traditional barber.
At the Tea Tree Plaza location, the Capital Retail team chose black and white checkered flooring and black tile that is a striking yet functional choice. Black walls are offset by white tile and white diagonal timber features on the wall and ceiling, and the floating timber ceiling features serves to visually separate the waiting area from the service area. Textures of brick, dark wood, metal and leather-style seating creates warmth and ambience. Vintage-inspired art and a large-scale Babylon logo completes the look.
Lighting is both stylish and practical. Downlights offer practical whole-room lighting throughout, while Hollywood-style bulbs set into the edges of the large mirrors create stylish and functional task lighting. The Cone Wall Light from Fat Shack Vintage produces ambient pools of light above the seating area and at the front entrance, where it warms the soft brass finish of the industrial cage façade.
