A bold burger joint serving attitude, flavour and atmosphere.
Founded in Brisbane in 2007, Burger Urge has grown from a single Fortitude Valley restaurant into one of Australia’s most recognisable gourmet burger brands. Known for its cheeky personality and fresh, made-to-order burgers, the brand has built a loyal following across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and the Northern Territory. Each restaurant reflects Burger Urge’s “eat, drink, be weird” ethos — unapologetically bold, full of character, and designed to make dining out an experience.
Working with design partners such as Inaspace Architecture, Burger Urge venues are developed with distinct concepts that capture the local culture and the brand’s energetic spirit. While no two locations are the same, they share a raw, urban aesthetic featuring layered textures, graphic murals, and bold colour contrasts. Industrial materials such as steel, timber, brick and concrete are paired with expressive artwork and playful signage to create a vibrant yet comfortable environment that feels instantly familiar.
Lighting plays a central role in shaping the brand’s atmosphere. Warm pendant lighting softens the raw finishes, creating a welcoming glow across dining areas, while feature fixtures draw attention to bar fronts, murals and signage. Accent lighting highlights the textures of exposed brick, timber panelling and metal details, adding depth and warmth to the overall palette. In some venues, coloured neon or LED signage introduces a punch of personality, reinforcing Burger Urge’s rebellious, street-inspired tone.
Together, these design elements transform each restaurant into more than a place to eat, they create an immersive, memorable space that reflects the brand’s cheeky humour and laid-back Australian confidence.
Whether you’re designing a hospitality venue that’s edgy and expressive or warm and welcoming, Fat Shack Vintage has a range of lighting solutions to help you shape the perfect atmosphere.
